Practical Training
In accordance with the Education and Training Policy of the Institute, it is a requirement that upon successful completion of the professional level examinations, the graduate shall undertake a compulsory three year practical training programme under the supervision of a chartered accountant. A graduate who has a minimum of two or more years of recognizable practical experience shall be required to undertake a two year practical training programme with the prior experience counting to one year of the required three years.
The practical training shall preferably be undertaken in one entity or in a number of entities depending on exposure to variety of work and availability of training opportunities. The entity in which practical training shall be undertaken may be either a private or public sector and approved by ZICA.

Exemptions
The Institute offers exemptions to individuals wishing to enrol on the ZiCA Accountancy Programme based on the qualifications that individual holds. The exemptions are given on a paper by paper basis upon submission of the statements of results or transcript of results, the course content/syllabus of the qualification, and full School Certificate or its equivalent. Among other considerations for awarding exemptions are:
The course content of the subject you wish to be exempted should cover 80 per cent of the Syllabus.
2. The pass mark of 50 per cent for alternative qualifications and 50 per cent for degree qualifications from recognised Universities.
3. The applicant has a full School Certificate or its equivalent with credits or better in English, Mathematics and three other subjects.
11th Graduation Ceremony
The Zambia Institute of Chartered Accountants (ZICA) will be holding its 11thGraduation Ceremony on Friday, 24th November 2017 at the New Government Complex in Kamwala – Lusaka.
All graduands are invited to participate at the Graduation Ceremony and may invite a maximum of two (2) guests to accompany them for the ceremony. The Invitation cards for the accompanying guests will be collected from the Venue of the Graduation ceremony on Thursday, 23rd November 2017 during the rehearsal session.
All the June 2017 graduands shall be seated by 09:00 hours in the graduation hall. All graduands are required to attend the rehearsals on Thursday 23th November, 2017 at 14:30 hours at the same venue. Note that participation will be dependent on confirmation, which will be done online only by registering for the November 2017 Graduation Ceremony Event in your ZICA online account by 10th November 2017. Graduands who will not confirm will not be allowed to participate at the ceremony.

In accordance with the Accountants Act of 2008, ZICA is mandated to accredit local and foreign institutions offering ZICA Programmes. In fulfilment of this mandate, ZICA accredits the Tuition Providers offering ZICA Programmes to ensure that the training Institutions meet the minimum training standards.
We wish to advise all our key stakeholders and the public that the listed institutions below have been accredited to offer tuition for the ZICA Programmes. Institutions that are not accredited are not allowed to offer tuition at any level. Students attending tuition with such institutions that are not accredited will be doing so at their own risk and ZICA will not be held responsible for poor training delivery
