CONGRATULATIONS – MR. KENNEDY MUSONDA ACCOUNTANT GENERAL

The Zambia Institute of Chartered Accountants (ZICA) would like to congratulate  Mr. Kennedy Musonda for his appointment as Accountant General of the Republic of Zambia. The Institute commends the Republican President, Mr. Edgar Chagwa Lungu for his decision  to appoint Mr Musonda, a Fellow and a senior member of the Institute with vast Public Sector experience. Mr. Musonda has worked in the financial management function of the public sector for more than 26 years. Prior to this appointment, he worked as a freelance development consultant in a number of sub sahara African countries and the Middle East including the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan. He also worked through different Government Ministries as Head of Accounting Units, and as Accountant General and Ex Official of the ZICA Council from 2008 to 2012. He has worked on a number of reform programs, macro-economic assessments, treasury single accounts, integrated financial management systems and assessments, and various public sector innovations.

The Institute is confident that matters related to research on financial management systems and the continous review of performance standards to improve service delivery in the public service will continue to progress. We therefore call upon  the accounting fraternity and the public at large to support him as he execute his duties.
